Speaker	:	Ir Dr Cary Chan, JP is a professional engineer and is currently the Executive Director of Hong Kong Green Building Council with the vision of driving the green building agenda for Hong Kong. Cary is regarded as an expert on building energy efficiency by the industry. Cary has carried out a lot of researches relating to the enhancement of building energy efficiency. Up to now, A number of his work have won international awards. Cary played a key role in establishing Hong Kong’s Green building assessment tool back in 1995. Since then he has been playing a leadership role on sustainable buildings within Hong Kong and abroad. He’s been nominated as WGBC APN Chair on 1 July 2021.

Details	:	China and Hong Kong has joined the rest of the world to commit on carbon neutrality by 2060 and 2050 respectively. In Hong Kong, buildings are responsible for 60% of it’s carbon emission and therefore played an important role in achieving the target. The talk will give a brief on World Green building Council’s global project named “Advancing Net Zero” and the Science based target initiatives. There will be a discussion on whether the target is feasible for a high rise, high density city in the sub-tropical region like Hong Kong and how the Hong Kong green building council drive the industry to advancing net zero. Remarks	:	The event will be conducted online via ZOOM. Successful registrants will be notified separately via email with the web link in due course to the online event. 1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
