Sr KOO has been working in the land surveying industry for over 40 years in the public sector. Sr KOO has extensive experience in land and engineering surveying in various large-scale port facilities developments and public housing development projects using GIS, BIM and other innovative surveying technologies.

Sr KOO is currently the Chairman of the Land Surveying Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.

Hong Kong is fortunate in having a sheltered natural harbour, which provides good access and a safe haven for vessels calling at the port from around the world. To ensure navigational safety, the Hydrographic Office (HO) of the Marine Department is responsible for surveying Hong Kong waters and producing nautical charts for mariners.

The CPD would review of the standards of Hong Kong Nautical Charts in use; the role of hydrographers in hydrographic surveys and chart productions; the latest technological development of the hydrographic surveys and chart making; and lastly the world trend of the international hydrographic society.
