ISO 41001: 2018 co-author Mr. Ian van der Pool MFM, CFM
Mr Ian van der Pool MFM, CFM is a very active and internationally oriented FM professional. He is currently employed by the Dutch Ministry of Defence, Joint Support Command as head of FM. Here he is – amongst others –responsible for strategic portfolio management, concept and policy development and the implementation of ISO41001 at 40+ army, navy and air force locations. Through his company ISO41001 CSI (a brand name of LHF BV), Ian is very active in promoting the ISO41000-series of FM standards in general and the ISO41001 FM management system standard in particular. Currently, Ian is chairman of the European FM standards committee CEN/TC348 (EN15221-series of FM standards) and is currently Head of Delegation for the Netherlands in ISO/TC267. Ian also is the former chairman of the Dutch FM association FMN and a former director in IFMA’s global board of directors.

Dr Ka Leung LOK (Lawrence)
Lawrence, PhD, MIET currently is a Distinguished Professor at National Research Base of Intelligent Manufacturing Service of Chongqing Technology and Business University (CTBU), China. Academically, Lawrence was awarded his PhD from School of Built Environment of University of Salford. He got his B. Sc. (Honour) Degree in Building from The City University of Hong Kong and MBA in Construction and Real Estate from The University of Reading. Professionally, Lawrence is developing as a consultant, lecturer and manager in the field of construction and real estate. His research interests are in the areas of Facilities Management Outsourcing relationships and relevant ISO series.

This seminar is organized to cover the following topics:

Understanding the specific nature of ISO41001, this new and exciting FM standard is not a technical standard, but a management system standard, just like ISO9001 for quality, ISO55001 for asset management, ISO14001 for environmental management systems etc. Within mature organizations, such as multinationals and government, this reluctance is ever-present. At the same time, their FM organizations are among the largest in the country, but customer satisfaction is (generally) low. Most FM’s feel that they are constantly forced into a reactive role and there is an eagerness to become more proactive and be able to show the added value of FM to the demand organization. ISO 41001: 2018 co-author Mr. Ian van der Pool MFM, CFM developed this ISO 41001 for use within both public and commercial organizations. The aim was to make sure that this standard was adopted within the organization by the people managing and delivering FM and facility services.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
